School Field Trips for the 2026–2027 School Year: Open Registration in Valencia, Peñíscola, Gandia, and Cullera
AUGUST 2026
If you're reading this in August, you're probably on vacation. And you deserve it. Save this post. Because when you go back to school in September and start planning for the school year, you’ll already have your field trip all set. At Indiana Tours, we’re taking bookings for the 2026–2027 school year. And this year, for the first time, we have four destinations to choose from.

When are school field trips scheduled?

The reality of the school calendar is clear: August is a time to unwind. But September kicks off at full speed: faculty meetings, planning the school year, school board meetings, the PTA... And school field trips are decided during those first few weeks.

Schools that have their destination figured out before the school year begins are the ones that secure the dates they want and are the most organized when planning the school year.

That’s why this post exists: so you can head into September with the dossier in hand and a proposal ready for your school.

Four destinations. One adventure.

For over five years, we’ve been transforming the historic centers of Valencia, Peñíscola, Gandia, and Cullera into living stages where students don’t just learn about history—they experience it firsthand.

Led by Jaco Müller, the Valencian Indiana Jones, each group becomes the star of a real-life adventure. It’s not just a guided tour. It’s a two-hour guided route featuring puzzles to solve, mysteries to unravel, and a sacred cup to find… The Holy Grail.

Ideal for elementary, middle, high school, and college students. Suitable for any educational institution, including schools for students with functional and intellectual disabilities and community organizations, as we have extensive experience in this specialized field.

Valencia · The Last Crusade · Since 2021

The Holy Grail has been in Valencia Cathedral since 1437. And most students walk right past it—just two meters away—without even knowing it’s there.

The Last Crusade is a fun, theatrical tour through Ciutat Vella: tests of ingenuity, legends, riddles, and unexpected discoveries. Valencia’s medieval history, the mystery of the Holy Grail, and an architectural heritage that comes to life at every turn.

100% accessible tour. Available year-round for schools and groups.

Peñíscola · The Last Crusade · Starting in 2023

Pope Luna’s castle, medieval alleyways steeped in centuries of secrets, and an adventure-filled expedition through one of the best-preserved medieval settings in the Valencian Community.

Peñíscola was the residence of Pope Benedict XIII, known as Pope Luna. One of the most fascinating and controversial figures of medieval Europe. A man who ruled from this rock jutting out into the sea when the entire world had turned its back on him.

Inclusive and accessible to students with intellectual disabilities. Available year-round for schools and groups.

Gandia · Borgia Territory · Starting in 2025

Rodrigo de Borja became Pope Alexander VI. His son César was the most feared man in Europe. His grandson Francisco renounced all the family’s power and was canonized. Three generations. One city.

Territorio Borgia is a dramatized tour through the Ducal City of Gandia, where the history, intrigue, and secrets of the most fascinating family of the European Renaissance come to life on a guided expedition led by Indiana.

100% accessible tour. Available year-round for schools and groups.

Cullera · In the Footsteps of Pirate Dragut and the Path to Salvation · New Destination 2026/2027

Indiana Tours’ fourth destination arrives this school year. Cullera holds extraordinary secrets within its 9th-century Caliphate castle, its 1938 air-raid shelters, and the streets through which the Holy Grail fled from Napoleon in 1808.

Two chapters of history. One city. An experience no textbook can replicate. Because history isn’t just something you study—it’s something you live!

Inclusive and suitable for students with intellectual disabilities. Available year-round for schools and groups.

Recognition that endorses the experience

Indiana Tours isn’t just another activity in the catalog of school field trips. It’s the only one in its category with this level of institutional recognition:

- 2023 CreaTurisme Award for Best Accessible Experience in the Valencian Community.
- PREDIF and Turisme Comunitat Valenciana Accessible Tourism Seal of Approval.
- 2022 Innovation Award from the El Camino del Santo Grial Cultural Association.
- SICTED Seal of Commitment to Tourism Quality.
- Members of the Tour&Kids board of directors.
